Grønlands Naturinstitut og Statens Naturhistoriske Museum ved Københavns Universitet lægger låg på gammel debat og fastslår, at der findes polarulve som selvstændig bestand i Grønland

Polarulven er sjælden, men den findes. Det konkluderer Grønlands Naturinstitut (Pinngortitaleriffik) og Statens Naturhistoriske Museum ved Københavns Universitet.
Dermed lægger de låg på en gammel debat, der har bølget frem og tilbage mellem videnskabsfolk og andre med interesse for Grønlands fauna.
Grønland har egen bestand af polarulve og de ulve, man fra tid anden har set på Grønland er ikke nødvendigvis strejfere fra Nordamerika. De kan være ulve fra Grønlands egen lille bestand.
I det gennemførte studie er polarulvens fulde genom kortlagt. Og når det sammenlignes med ulve fra Nordamerika skiller det sig ud. Dermed er det dokumenteret af den grønlandske polarulv er helt sin egen skriver natur.gl
