Perikon snaps laves af prikbladet perikon, som er en 40-60 cm urt, er udbredt over det meste af Danmark, og er at finde på overdrev, vejkanter samt lysåbne skove

Prikbladet Perikon (Perikum) er en gammel lægeurt, som munkene anvendte til flere forskellige formål.
Én af de nok mere specielle var, at planten havde en god virkning på en vordende brud. Bruden skulle have en portion mixtur på sin bryllupsdag, så hun ikke blev for “vild” på selve bryllupsnatten.
I dag anvendes ekstrakt af planten mod lettere depression, og den bliver også kaldt for “den grønne lykkepille”. Så man kan med andre ord kun blive glad af at drikke perikon snaps!

” Ekstrakt af perikon er undersøgt i mange kontrollerede studier over for placebo eller almindeligt anvendte antidepressiva hos patienter med mild til moderat depression. En metaanalyse af 35 klinisk kontrollerede studier viste, at perikon havde en bedre antidepressiv effekt end placebo (n = 18 studier), og at perikon var lige så effektiv som og ledsaget af færre bivirkninger end standardbehandling (n = 17 studier)
Perikon snaps: Sådan gør du
Pluk cirka 2 dl af de gule blomsterknopper (undgå de udsprungne blomster), som så fyldes på en flaske neutral snaps eller vodka.
Lad hele herligheden trække i to til tre uger, hvorefter snapsen filtreres og herefter stilles den til lagring på et mørkt sted. Vent mindst 4 uger med nyde snapsen – og gerne lidt længere. Snapsen vinder dog ikke nævneværdigt ved flere års lagring.
De gule blomsterknopper indeholder et rødt farvestof, og er man rigtig heldig, så kan man efterfølgende stå med en flot, klar og rød snaps.
Snapsen har et let sødmefuld smag, og passer aldeles fortrinligt sammen med eksempelvis en god ost.
